Job Description The Driver Position requires a valid CDL and involves operating various types of vehicles, including buses, shuttle vans, and straight trucks. Individuals with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with applicable laws. Job Responsibilities Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after each route. Maintain a clean and pleasant atmosphere within and around the vehicle. Utilize all safety equipment and always wear a seatbelt while driving. Operate a company vehicle under 26,000 lb (GVW), effectively transporting passengers and supplies. Drive cautiously and defensively in all conditions. Exhibit exceptional customer service skills while interacting with guests to ensure a positive representation of the company. Assist with guest transportation to and from designated locations. Act as a knowledgeable resource about the property and surrounding areas for guests. Lift guest luggage weighing up to 80 lbs as needed. Ensure the vehicle is fueled, cleaned, and inspected when necessary. Identify and report maintenance or safety issues immediately. Accurate completion of vehicle logbooks, including rider-ship logs. Coordinate with the Transportation Office dispatcher for special requests and group transportation needs. Operate as a warehouse driver when assigned, transporting equipment safely. Perform maintenance and safety inspections on vehicles and equipment, including checking and changing oil, tires, and lights. Facilitate occasional clerical work and assist with office duties if required. Follow federal regulations regarding propane dispensing when applicable. Attend scheduled department and safety meetings. Share innovative ideas for improving operation efficiency. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and security. Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older. Preferred: 1 year + professional driving and vehicle mechanical experience, along with customer service skills. Effective communication in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Valid Commercial Driver License (Class B or C) with a clean driving record and at least 5 years of safe driving history is required. Pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card. Complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and participate in a random testing pool. Successful completion of a Defensive Driving Course before operating a company vehicle. A passenger endorsement or air brake endorsement may be required. Experience driving in various weather conditions is essential, including winter weather and tire chain installation. Equipment Used: Company Vehicle, Walkie-Talkie, Hand Truck, Computer, Photocopier, Printer, Telephone. Travel Requirements: Minimal, less than 10%. This role may have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. The position may require uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
