Their team is known for being highly dedicated to retail partners and consumers while going above and beyond with flower quality, flower consistency, and innovative product development. They are seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Director to prepare the organization for its next stage of growth.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Director will develop, implement, and oversee company-wide human resources systems. This leader will own all people operations, including time and attendance, recognition, employee development, employee relations, HR-related legal support, and employee data management. The role is a key partner to the CEO and leadership team, ensuring alignment between HR practices and business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Compliance: Develop and manage all HR policies and documentation, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, partner with outside counsel on HR legal matters.
Recruitment & Talent Management: Lead recruitment for new and replacement hires, own talent processes, drive organizational design, succession planning, and performance review programs.
Employee & Labor Relations: Manage employee relations and incident resolution, develop proactive labor relations strategies, promote a healthy and inclusive work environment.
Leadership & Development: Provide leadership coaching to managers and supervisors, diagnose organizational issues, drive initiatives to enhance company culture and employee engagement.
Systems & Processes: Implement and manage the time and attendance system, identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, promote corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Labor Relations, Organizational Development, or related field.
10+ years of HR experience, including leadership roles in manufacturing and/or distribution with 200+ employees.
Knowledge of HR systems, strong understanding of California labor law, familiarity with cannabis industry regulations related to HR.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills, proficiency in HRIS systems and MS/Google Suite.
Additional Requirements
Must pass all required background checks, remain compliant with all cannabis industry regulations, be available for emergencies in a multi-shift environment.
Willingness to work longer hours during peak seasons.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Exposure to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes, moderate background noise, work indoors/outdoors in varying temperatures, ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
