This posting is to recruit 1 per-diem and 1 FT (1.0) FTE

POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Service Worker supports the hospital's mission by ensuring patients, visitors, and staff receive safe, nutritious, and well-presented meals. This position plays a vital role in healing and comfort by consistently upholding standards of cleanliness, timeliness, and patient-centered service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Build Trust: We exhibit integrity, transparency and compassion in every interaction. • Follow all sanitation and infection control standards to ensure patient safety. • Handle dietary needs and allergy alerts with strict accuracy and confidentiality. • Maintain a professional, respectful demeanor with patients and coworkers to foster confidence in service delivery.

Obsess Over Excellence: We have high standards and seek continuous improvement. • Ensure food quality, temperature, and presentation meet or exceed hospital standards. • Restock and clean equipment and work areas consistently to maintain a pristine environment. • Double-check meal trays for accuracy and completeness prior to delivery. • Receive and put away stock in a timely, orderly, and safe manner.

Lead Innovation: We lead with creativity, agility and think bold in our approach. • Embrace technology for meal ordering, patient tracking, and communication tools. • Suggest improvements for tray line efficiency, menu flow, or patient satisfaction where appropriate. • Remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment by embracing new procedures and tools that enhance service.

Deepen Connections: We build strong relationships with our patients, their families and partners in the communities we serve. • Engage with patients warmly and attentively when delivering meals or taking menu selections. • Communicate effectively with clinical teams to accommodate special diets or last-minute changes. • Support your team by stepping in wherever needed to keep service seamless.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Education: High school diploma or GED

Required Licensure: Food worker's card

Specialty Certification: N/A

Required Experience: prior food service or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Skills: ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong interpersonal skills and compassion for patients and their care needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Office and clinical settings with potential exposure to patient care areas. • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities. • May require occasional travel between facility locations.

Benefit Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.

Employee Dependents - Your legal spouse or domestic partner; dependent children until age 26.

Waiting Period - 1st of the month following your date of hire.
