DESCRIPTION:
The Packer is responsible for packaging and shipment of materials, supplies, and products. Perform basic administrative, clerical, operational and computational tasks. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and timing. Works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and established procedures. Ensures each order receives the correct paperwork, packing and shipping labels. Accurately packages boxes requiring special handling according to specific process and policy requirements. Understanding of LAM & Shinko packaging specifications, including labeling specifications. Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools. Seal container or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tool Correctly sorts packages for specific ship type to correct locations. Stages packages waiting for carrier pickup in specified areas. Assist in loading outgoing shipments to assigned carriers using material handling equipment. Cleans warehouse and packaging areas to ensure safe working conditions per 6s protocol. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift certified required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma, GED equivalent. 0-2 years of experience. Attention to detail. Must be reliable and have excellent attendance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
Standing for extended periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or bending to the floor. Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
Regularly exposed to moving equipment. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. Indoor/Outdoor work environment. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit).
1st Shift-Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm. Overtime as needed.
This position is located at 1530 W. Broadway Rd. Tempe, AZ.
