ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

To insure the correct handling and distribution of all materials in support of production activities throughout the plant while demonstrating safe and efficient use of qualified material handling equipment, including but not limited to fork lifts, walk-behind lifts, and Raymond type lifts. The Material Handler is responsible for staging raw materials and packaging supplies, steel and wood reel movement, bulk material handling, truck loading and unloading, and to perform any support duty in any department as directed by their Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Safely operate powered material handling trucks. • Provide any needed raw materials or reels for production lines • Move warehoused raw material items to lines • Move excess raw materials back to the warehouse after a production is completed on a line • Movement of material between 2801 and 2901 factories • Pick up trash and dump into outside containers each shift. • Assist operator or helper with machine related tasks when needed such as machine set up • Move scrap to staging area, weigh, and properly tag for shipping • Move finished product into the finished goods reel yard and accurately update location in SAP • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment. High school education or the equivalent. Previous experience driving forklift. Previous computer knowledge or experience. Career Readiness Certification

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand verbal or written instructions, provide verbal or written information to others, work continuous shift if requested, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime if requested, maintain a good attendance and punctuality record, follow all safety rules and maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility, work well with others, and distinguish colors correctly. • Requires lifting of weights up to 60# on a daily basis. Requires occasional bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling.The job has occasional sitting for paperwork.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: • OJT - Will use company systems - SAP
