We are currently hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail store at Tanger Outlets Foley, Alabama. As a key member of the store leadership team, you will support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and representing the brand with integrity and enthusiasm. Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day store operations in partnership with the Store Manager. Assist in personnel management, training, customer service execution, merchandising, store operations, marketing, and display maintenance in the absence of the Store Manager. Foster a positive, results-driven culture of sales and performance for all associates. Support a team-selling environment that benefits the Spring Step brand, associates, and customers. Participate in store recruitment, retention, and development of top talent. Teach, coach, and train store associates within guidelines from Store Manager and field leadership. Handle performance management and employee relations issues in the Store Manager’s absence. Ensure proper merchandising per company directives and assist with marketing initiatives and store displays. Provide world-class customer service and instill a customer-first attitude within the sales team. Oversee store asset security and adherence to risk management policies, including daily bank deposits, opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and balance compliance. Key Outputs / Results
Drive a sales culture through incentives, clear communication, and consistent brand promotion. Maintain appropriate staffing levels using daily productivity targets and communicate goals to all associates. Ensure store asset security and compliance with risk management policies, including stock counts and inventory management. Qualifications
Experience: At least 1 year in retail with a sales-driven environment. Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of footwear or fashion retail is a plus. Sales & Service: Proven track record in sales and service execution. Technology: Proficiency with basic software and POS systems. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-service focus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, climb an 8-foot ladder, stand for long periods, and bend as needed. Flexibility: Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Interpersonal Skills: Positive, collaborative team player who builds strong relationships.
