General Description : Responsible for analyzing information and creating financial deliverables for clients with standard to complex benefit programs, including fully insured and self-funded clients. Responsibilities : Perform financial analytics for fully insured and self-funded clients, typically with 100 to 1,000 lives. Prepare standard analyses with occasional customization, including market review analysis, renewal rate and funding projections, claims utilization analysis, rate and contribution analysis, claims experience reports, benchmarking, financial funding analysis, IBNR and lag analyses, and develop alternative strategies and plan modeling for cost reduction. Conduct technical analysis of group insurance contracts and financial arrangements. Serve as the primary contact with insurance carriers, negotiate and market coverage for new business quotes and renewals, including requesting quotes, evaluating options, negotiating rates and benefits, and preparing renewal or new plan options with executive summaries. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers. Review and validate carrier renewal rating illustrations. Analyze experience and claims data to identify trends and inform renewal ratings, suggesting actions as needed. Write client-facing executive summaries with observations, conclusions, recommendations, and next steps, articulating USI strategic objectives. Prepare written correspondence for carriers and clients, including renewal confirmation and client renewal letters. Occasionally use internal and external analytical tools, such as USI 3D, USI Clear Options Rx, and actuarial tools. Participate in peer review processes and onboarding training for new analysts. Stay current on industry trends, legislation, new products, and technological advancements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits or related field. College degree required. Willingness to obtain or hold a state Life & Disability insurance license. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision. Strong skills in managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Ability to quickly learn internal analytic systems and carrier reporting tools. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Capability to handle complex tasks with multiple variables. Compensation range: $70,000 - $73,000.
