Department: Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences The Department is nationally recognized as a leader in innovative models of adult and pediatric mental health care, public and community psychiatry, behavioral health integration, excellence in medical education and research, and a commitment to advancing health equity. The Department has a four-year Adult Psychiatry residency program with 48 residents. It offers Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry fellowships, a Public and Community Psychiatry fellowship, a Psychology Internship, and postdoctoral fellowships in health service psychology and research. The Department participates in undergraduate medical education via Nervous System and Human Behavior courses, core clinical rotations, acting internships, and advanced electives. About 10 percent of Einstein\'s graduating M.D. and M.D./Ph.D. students choose psychiatry. Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Division will launch its first inpatient child and adolescent unit, the Montefiore Einstein Center for Children\'s Mental Health (CCMH) in Winter 2025, with 21 beds. It will be located across from the Einstein campus on space leased from OMH within the NYC Children\'s Center. This unit will double the number of acute pediatric psychiatry beds in the Bronx and serve as a cornerstone of the Division. Ambulary services are provided at multiple Bronx campuses and in Westchester, with partnerships across CHAM, School Health Program, BHIP/MMG, RFK-CERC, Butler Center, and NYCCC-Bronx. Specialty ambulatory programs include Eating Disorders, Anxiety and Mood Program (AMP), BEAM, CARE, A-DBT, and Project Rising (youth addiction service). A pediatric inpatient ED service is housed in CHAM Emergency Department. A Novembre IOP for adolescents opened Fall 2023. Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with departmental leadership, the Director of Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry will provide expert and visionary leadership to guide the inaugural launch and development of Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Montefiore Einstein. Oversee a multidisciplinary staff including psychiatry, nursing, psychology, social work and creative arts therapy Supervise and work with two board-certified inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry attendings Provide direct care to a census of approximately 5-6 patients Create a program culture conducive to professional development and well-being Work closely with training program directors to support high-quality learning environments Collaborate with the director of Quality Improvement to advance quality and safety initiatives Assist in recruitment and retention of diverse clinician staff Support health equity and excellence in patient care, education, and research, promoting wellness and diversity, equity, and inclusion Ideal Experience

Leadership

– Administrative and leadership experience in acute pediatric psychiatry; experience recruiting faculty and staff is valued. Academic

– A record of outstanding personal accomplishments within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Clinical Expertise

– Expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry demonstrated through direct patient care, teaching and supervision. Mentorship

– Demonstrated interest in medical education and mentorship, especially for trainees and early-career faculty. Medical Degree

– M.D. degree and board certifications in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; licensed or eligible for New York licensure. Leadership Capabilities
