MRO Inventory Control Specialist
PRIMARY DUTIES: • Monitor, manage, and maintain inventory levels of MRO materials including spare parts, tools, and consumables to avoid shortages or overstocking. • Collaborate with maintenance teams to forecast material needs and adjust inventory levels accordingly and avoid stockouts or overstocking. • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data integrity. • Coordinate with vendors and MRO Procurement team to manage lead times, deliveries, and returns. • Follow up on purchase orders, receive, inspect, and log incoming MRO supplies; ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of parts to facilitate quick identification and access. • Utilize ERP or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System; Plex) systems to track inventory levels, transactions, and reorder points. • Analyze inventory usage patterns and recommend improvements in stock control strategies (Inventory management, waste reduction, and cost control). • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. • Other jobs and/or duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
KNOWLEDGE AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS: • Ability to be able to handle multiple tasks. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Must be able to work independently. • Knowledge of maintenance supplies and inventory procedures. • Possess basic computer skills, familiar with web/internet navigation, and willingness to learn and utilize new technology-based products as applicable • Ability to operate a Forklift (must maintain on-site certification provided by Usui)
QUALIFICATIONS (including educational requirements): • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred. • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or maintenance support-preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Experience with lean manufacturing or 5S principles. • Familiarity with MRO materials and equipment. • Proficiency with ERP and CMMS systems (e.g., Plex, SAP, Oracle, Maximo). • Attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse or storeroom environments.
