Non-Instructional Faculty Full-time - Counseling
Montgomery College is seeking four full-time Counseling faculty members to start in January 2026. We are committed to supporting student retention, persistence, and completion. Provides academic advising and counseling through on campus, in-person and virtual individual and group meetings to diverse and unique student populations. Provides academic advising and counseling to diverse student populations. Assists students with academic, career, and social development. Provides short-term interventions, support, follow-up, and referrals to college and community resources. Uses designated technologies and advising systems. Serves as a student advocate. Collaborates with instructional faculty, administrators, staff, and community partners. Teaches Student Success courses. Prepares and delivers workshops, trainings, and outreach needs. Stays current in the field and continues to grow and develop as an educator. Required Qualifications A Master’s degree in counseling, student affairs/higher education, social work, psychology, or a closely related field. Teaching experience at the college or secondary level. Two years of counseling experience. Experience working with diverse student populations. Knowledge of mental health issues, counseling theories, and student development theories. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Two years of teaching experience at the college or secondary level. Two years of experience providing brief personal counseling and referrals. Bilingual (Spanish or French).
