Description The School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Bachelor of Science Completion Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Echocardiography. The selected candidate will have responsibilities visiting Clinical sites for Undergraduate students and tracking their on-site performance. Subject matters may include clinical competencies and proficiencies in adult echocardiography Assist the program director and clinical coordinator in recruiting new clinical sites Work with the PD, Dean, and current clinical coordinator to keep track of students using the Trajecsys system monitoring attendance, student study logs and their progress toward full competence. Assist the clinical coordinator in assigning students to clinical sites, ensure students comply with the requirements for on boarding for their assigned site Perform clinical site visits and evaluation of students in the clinical setting. Delivers didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction via multiple formats (in-person, online, or in a ‘blended' format) in the BS Completion in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Echocardiography. Provides students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria. Provides engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered. Supports incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities. Uses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students and the Clinical Management program Trajecsys. Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment Email student steps for vaccinations/background check. Submit background check iCORI form with the University Counsel Evaluate and assess students on their performance in clinical giving regular feedback and entering grades first into the LMS and then final grades in the School's Self-Service system Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
Requirements Required: Required Bachelor of Science or Arts ARDMS or CCI Certification in DMS Echocardiography Minimum of 5 years of work experience in echocardiography Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the college/university level Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success Excellent organizational and communication skills Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
