The Arbitration Manager is accountable for oversight of the grievance dispute process up to and through settlement or arbitration. The Arbitration Manager will manage evidence gathering, witness preparation, and document production to effectively support the Company position for arbitration. The Arbitration Manager will also develop arbitration strategies, draft any arbitration-related submissions and identify trends in the decision arena to support the development of the Company’s strategic position. In addition, the Arbitration Manager would lead and support settlement of grievances with UAW partners to resolve contractual disputes prior to arbitration. The Arbitration Manager will provide contractual interpretation and guidance to Labor Relations and operations business partners related to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and related Letters of Understanding. Also, they will ensure compliance with all statutory and federal laws impacting the US hourly workforce. The Arbitration Manager will be expected to communicate with colleagues across all locations and departments regarding grievance, arbitration or contract administration and application. They will also be responsible for the drafting and review of local and national contract language, particularly during pre-determined bargaining periods. The Arbitration Manager will also develop and enhance a comprehensive, centralized repository of arbitration decisions, best practices or learned strategies to inform future strategies and preventive measures. They will identify and incorporate trends and learnings from arbitration decisions to inform policy adjustments and to develop internal training programs for business partners to mitigate future disputes. Responsibilities

Provide oversight of lifecycle of grievance disputes to settlement or arbitration hearing and decision Efficiently and effectively manage document production, witness interviews, and internal evidence collection Develop arbitration strategies, drafting pre-arbitration hearing submissions and preparing witnesses Lead or support settlement negotiations with UAW partners to resolved disputes pre-arbitration Manage logistics of arbitration hearings, including liaising with arbitration panels Provide deep contract interpretation and subject matter expertise related to all provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and related Letters of Understanding Resolve related Collective Bargaining Agreement issues or concerns that may impact employees or union relations Ensure compliance with all statutory and federal laws impacting the US hourly workforce Communicate with colleagues across all locations/departments regarding grievance, arbitration or contract interpretation administration Write and review local and national contract provisions, when necessary (during Bargaining periods, including administrative or language clarification letters throughout) Develop and enhance centralized repository of arbitration outcomes, best practices or learned strategies to inform future strategies and preventive measures Identify and incorporate trends from arbitration cases to inform recommended policy adjustments and develop internal training programs to mitigate future disputes Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree required Minimum 3 years of work experience while pursuing a Juris Doctor degree or in the Human Resources, Employee/Labor Relations area of expertise Ability to analyze data and use technology to identify and diagnose business needs Ability to lead others to deliver cross-functional objectives and assignments Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and organization skills Strong interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills Presence to successfully influence/interface with colleagues, and UAW working partners Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Conflict management skills Team oriented, strong drive for results Even better, you may have

Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Organizational Behavior/Development Bachelor’s degree Previous union contract negotiations experience Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) This position is hybrid (onsite four days per week) for candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location or remote for non-local candidates.
