Overview
This position is for a full time Clinical faculty for Ob/Gyn service supporting NYP and Hudson Valley Hospitals Ob/Gyn division.
The Columbia University Irving Medical Center's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology has long been a leader in advancing women's health care. Located at the heart of CUIMC's vibrant medical community, more than 100 physicians and over 40 post-graduate residents and fellows work together alongside researchers and clinicians across CUIMC to meet women's health care needs. We remain committed to our mission to provide the best patient care, to train future Ob/Gyn leaders, to support innovative research, and to bring those innovations into clinical practice.
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University has long been at the forefront of advancing women's reproductive health care. We pioneered the Apgar score for assessing newborn health, were the first in the nation to perform an amniocentesis test, and developed RhoGAM, which has nearly eliminated Rh-incompatibility reactions that once caused hundreds of fetal and neonatal deaths annually.
This position is an essential, patient-facing role. Qualified applicants will be required to assist with developing the practices office-based Obstetrics and GyGynecology service. The academic title will be determined by the candidate's qualifications.
Responsibilities
Provide outpatient care to obstetrical and gynecological patients as part of the Ob/Gyn division serving NYP/Columbia and Hudson Valley Hospitals.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality clinical care in Hudson Valley. This position offers significant opportunities for leadership and career development.
Minimum Qualifications
MD or Equivalent
New York State Medical License or eligible
Board Certified or Board Eligible
Preferred Qualifications
Desire to participate in a community-based healthcare practice
Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement
Excellent communication, bedside manners, and organizational skills
Collaborates well with other disciplines (RN, CNM, NP) and specialties
