Overview Harborview Medical Center - Heart Institute has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant).

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus

This is a Fixed Duration appointment anticipated to last 1 year

Department Description Located adjacent to the main medical center, the Heart Institute at Harborview Medical Center provides consultation and follow-up care for patients referred to the clinic for cardiac-related issues. Services include the evaluation and management of cardiac-related health problems, patient education, cardiac imaging; including heart catheterization and electrophysiology, stress testing and cardiac CT. Other services include anticoagulation monitoring, ECGs and echocardiography. This interdisciplinary clinic team supports a patient population with a wide range of cardiac diagnoses, with a focus in heart failure patients.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Manage patients in a fast paced outpatient clinic

Assessment and treatment of various acute concerns, hospital discharge follow-up, medication management, and coordination with other members of the cardiology team, as well as the patient’s larger care team

Implement the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator and researcher within the specialized area of Cardiology

Collaborate with care team members from primary care, nephrology, the diagnostic lab and case managers in the community setting

Independently manage a cohort of heart failure patients in the outpatient cardiology clinic

Work collaboratively with Cardiology staff nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers, faculty Cardiologists and other cardiology specialists to enhance the quality of care provided to a high-risk population

Serve as a heart failure expert within the institution, bridging clinical responsibilities between hospital and clinic

Play a key role in reducing heart failure admissions/re-admissions, LOS, and in improving the overall health of the heart failure patient population at this very busy level-one cardiac, stroke, vascular and trauma center

Requirements

Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing

Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges

License to practice as an RN in Washington State

National certification as a Nurse Practitioner

BLS certification

Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington

National certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA)

Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medical Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions

BLS certification

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details Pay Range Minimum:

$121,392.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$189,876.00 annual
