Position Overview:
The Waldorf School of San Diego High School is seeking a
passionate, committed, and compassionate
Math Teacher to join our dedicated high school faculty. This is a part-time, per-class position (8–12 classes per week) during the school year, starting in September 2025. The high school math teacher will teach up to two courses, with each course meeting four times per week. Potential courses include Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. The specific course(s) assigned will be based on the candidate’s
experience and qualifications
. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging daily lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and scope and sequence Develop and administer assessments to track student progress Write individual narrative evaluations at the end of each semester Implement individual educational support plans when needed Collaborate with faculty and families to integrate support within the broader curriculum Support students’ personal growth with warm authority, consistency, and care Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not required) Relevant teaching experience Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with flexibility and a commitment to maintaining routines Experience with Waldorf education or training (preferred but not required) First Aid and CPR certification (training available through WSSD) Successful completion of a background check (required) Compensation: $45-$55 per class.
