In response to the increasing demand for polysomnographic technologists, Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking an innovative leader for our new Polysomnography program. Help us meet the needs of the healthcare community and assist our students with reaching their goals. The Polysomnography curriculum prepares individuals, working in conjunction with a physician, to perform and interpret sleep studies and to provide comprehensive clinical evaluations that are required for the diagnosis of sleep related disorders. Students should acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform sleep studies, including recording and interpreting events observed during sleep. Treatment of sleep related disorders and patient education focused on healthy sleep habits will also be discussed. Duties

Develop the Polysomnography Program and seek initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Maintain CAAHEP Polysomnography accreditation and ensure the program follows Committee on Accreditation for Polysomnographic Technologist Education (CoA PSG) standards and guidelines. Teach face-to-face, online, and blended Polysomnography courses to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus as needed by the Department. Incorporate latest instructional technologies and interactive learning strategies in course delivery. Plan, organize, and coordinate all aspects of the Polysomnography Program. Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate program faculty. Develop and maintain community relationships that support the mission of the College and the Polysomnography Program. Provide input to the Dean of Allied Health Technologies on departmental budget needs to include supplies, equipment, travel, and other costs. Participate in student recruitment efforts and advisement for increased enrollment and retention. Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned. Other duties as explained in the job description for Department Chairs in the Organizational Handbook. Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited university in Polysomnography or closely related field. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a practicing polysomnographic technologist. Communication, both oral and written, and computer skills necessary. Preferred Requirements

Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited university. Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a practicing polysomnographic technologist. Teaching experience at a community college or four-year university. Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques.
