The Role Field Researchers are responsible for data collection supporting all CoStar Group products. They focus on capturing tenant, listing, and building data in high-priority commercial properties, ensuring accurate market insights. This role involves canvassing commercial properties in a designated geographic area, managed by a supervisor in Richmond, VA, and based in the local market.
Responsibilities
Navigate one-mile square grids to ensure complete data coverage.
Walk through commercial buildings to document tenant data: business name, address, suite size, geo-location, and media.
Communicate professionally with building staff to access tenant rosters and property data.
Identify missing inventory, availability, and other commercial data.
Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of data.
Represent CoStar professionally at all times.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, and sit frequently, including driving for up to 8 hours daily.
Lift and carry equipment up to 5 pounds.
Perform repetitive hand and arm movements typing on a tablet or laptop.
Perform occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, and twisting.
Work outdoors in all seasons.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience.
Strong time management, detail orientation, and independent work skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Accurate data capture and entry skills.
Ability to navigate large geographic areas independently.
Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
Proficiency in Windows, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and internet applications.
Quick learner of new concepts, including real estate terminology.
Field experience is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and responsible driving record.
This position offers an hourly rate equivalent to $63,000/year, based on skills and experience, plus benefits.
