Description

Serve as a Receptionist, Image Librarian, and limited Scheduler. Incumbents are responsible for a full range of Radiology front-end processes, including Reception, Image Library, and onsite scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments. Reception duties include the registration and arrival of patients; obtaining clinical information pertinent to scheduled exams; and collecting cash, insurance, and authorization information. Digital Librarian duties include digitization of hardcopy images, creating hardcopy and/or CDs of images, and retrieving comparison studies. Uploading CDs and processing LILA's are also required. Scheduling duties involve handling add-on, reschedule, cancel, and follow-up appointments. The Administrative Assistant demonstrates maximum flexibility and multitasking capabilities while working with staff as a team. Ability to rotate to existing Radiology Areas is required. Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with staff, faculty, fellows, residents, and patients. Ability to establish comfortable relationships with patients and their family members. Ability to independently make decisions in the absence of superiors. Ability to adjust to changing priorities, frequent interruptions, deadlines, emergencies, and heavy workload. Strong working knowledge of personal computers, HIS, RIS, LORAD, PACSCUBE CD Burner, Array Digitizer. Skill in typing with accuracy and moderate speed. Ability to use mathematical skills to analyze workload and financial data efficiently. Knowledge of medical terminology to accurately prepare scheduling and interact with physicians, patients, and staff. Basic organizational skills to ensure an efficient office, including scheduling, electronic and paper records, and files. Skill in analyzing information or situations to define problems, identify relevant concerns, and formulate logical conclusions and alternatives. Ability to handle confidentiality issues with tact and diplomacy. Ability to read and write business correspondence and reports using proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax. Basic organization skills to ensure efficient office operations. Working knowledge of hospital/billing forms and the ability to explain services and charges to patients and/or family. Skill in quickly assimilating and retaining a large body of financial screening and patient registration information.
