Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the CRISPR-X group at CRISPR Therapeutics, the leading gene editing company. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team whose aim is to advance next generation gene editing. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, attention to detail and a desire to assist in developing the next generation of gene editing. Responsibilities Perform research with the aims of developing next-generation gene editing strategies using CRISPR-based gene editing tools Perform research requiring molecular biology techniques including cloning, qPCR, NGS, RNA and DNA analysis, ddPCR and other plate-based assays Perform basic biochemistry processes and assays, including protein extraction, protein and nucleic acids gel electrophoresis, western blots, ELISAs and reagent preparation Perform research requiring cell biology techniques including cell culture, transfection, FACS, and cell-based assays Maintain lab notebooks and report data and analysis results to the scientific team. Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in biology or related discipline Experience: Senior Research Associate - 4 to 7+ years of relevant research experience or 2-5+ years with advanced degree Proven hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, including Gibson assembly, Golden Gate assembly, mapping and sequencing plasmids, DNA & RNA isolation, plasmid preparation, and plate-based PCR assays (qRT, ddPCR, etc) Skilled in mammalian cell culture with experience in transient transfection and electroporation of cell-lines, and primary cells including T-cells and primary hepatocytes. Proficient in cell-based assays with various readout technologies, such as flow cytometry and PCR. Excellent oral and written communication skills Track record of intellectually challenging oneself to enhance scientific capabilities Ability to work independently as well as part of a results-oriented research team; highly organized with significant attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with protein and/or RNA engineering Competencies Collaborative - Openness, One Team Undaunted - Fearless, Can-do attitude Results Orientation - Delivering progress toward our mission.
