Model-Based Systems Engineer

(MBSE) on a team dedicated to the development of a new cloud hybrid solution operating in a multi-level security environment. The position requires expertise with a focus on both Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) operations. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems support team in

San Antonio, TX . Please be aware that this position will be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date. What You’ll Get To Do Collaborate with the lead engineer to design and implement modeling frameworks for SD-WAN solutions within a cloud environment. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies for secure data transmission and storage in a multi-level security setting. Utilize MBSE methodologies to capture and analyze system requirements, functionality, and performance. Engage in systems integration and testing to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards. Enable simulation concept creating virtual representations (models) of real-world networks to study behavior, predict performance, and test designs in a virtual environment. Support the documentation of engineering processes, models, and security protocols. Assist in the creation and execution of operational plans for both CONUS and OCONUS deployments. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to convey technical information and project status. Stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices. This position can be filled at the Principal Engineer or Sr. Principal Engineer level. Basic Qualifications – Principal Cyber Systems Engineer Bachelor’s degree in related STEM discipline with 5 years of experience; Master’s degree related in STEM discipline with 3 years of experience; PhD in related STEM discipline with 1 year of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. U.S. Citizenship required A current/active DoD Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance Strong understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and tools. DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, etc.) is required Basic Qualifications – Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer Bachelor’s degree in related STEM discipline with 9 years of experience; Master’s degree related in STEM discipline with 7 years of experience; PhD in related STEM discipline with 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. U.S. Citizenship required A current/active DoD Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance Strong understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and tools.
