Overview
The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) Nurse Anesthesia Program, department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health, is currently recruiting one full-time faculty member to participate in the clinical and didactic education of Nurse Anesthesia students.
UMSON enrolls more than 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. Its location in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C.-Annapolis triangle maximizes opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, health care institutions, and life science industries.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include teaching in the didactic and clinical courses with Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse Anesthesia students and teaching in the simulation laboratory.
Work collaboratively with simulation, clinical and didactic faculty across settings.
Develop, teach, organize, and evaluate courses and precepted experiences.
Select, advise, and mentor students.
Participate in a program of scholarship.
Qualifications
CRNA Certification.
Doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of Maryland.
Experience with high fidelity simulation is preferred.
Experience with the delivery of regional, obstetric, and/or pediatric anesthesia is preferred.
Record of effective teaching, precepting, and clinical experience in nursing anesthesia are required.
Compensation Hiring Range: $200,000
