Network Infrastructure Analyst (Infrastructure Analyst) at Oregon Health & Science University. This role is part of the ITG (Information Technology Group) and supports the analysis, design, deployment, maintenance, security, and optimization of OHSU local and wide area networks, data center networks, and related infrastructure. Base pay range: $95,219.00/yr - $131,946.00/yr. This range is provided by OHSU; actual pay is based on skills and experience. Responsibilities

Systems Analysis: Conduct field analysis of deployed ITG core services including network infrastructure, related services, security systems, virtualized environments, wireless and wired networks. Monitor performance, identify degradation or problem trends, provide feedback and resolutions to customers and ITG support teams. Analyze and test new hardware and software for integrity and usability. Develop/test solutions for field-discovered problems. Recommend optimal hardware/software solutions for special project requirements. Advise ITG staff on tools, processes and procedures. Maintain expertise with current technologies and evaluate proposed future technologies for deployments in research and classroom environments. Participate in testing to assess changes in tools, processes and procedures. Collaborate with managers, technicians and customers to improve processes and ensure timely project completion and quality of support; communicate trends and root causes to ITG management. Assist ITG in developing a technology roadmap. Network Systems Administration: Manage the full lifecycle of network infrastructure equipment and services, including planning, inventory management, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support. Monitor networks proactively and mentor Field Technology Analysts and other ITG personnel. Use standard templates/models to deploy and configure ITG services across operational and project work (excluding service design, which requires System Analyst Engineer input). Project Management: Use the ITG Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to implement and support projects. Coordinate with facilities, space planning, outside vendors, and ITG units for project planning and resource management. Participate in project kick-offs, implementation, and support meetings; advocate for ITG and user communities for technical solutions. Manage priorities and communicate issues to management; coordinate project and ticket work with desktop support staff. Communicate about modifications to desktop builds related to OS, NOS, hardware, and drivers based on field experience. Security Administration: Support and implement security procedures and best practices across supported systems. Provide ongoing validation to keep systems secure, configurations current, and vulnerabilities remediated. Support confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network-related services as required. Continued Professional Development/Mentoring Other Duties As Assigned Required Qualifications

Education

Two or more years of paid work experience as a Field Technology Analyst or Systems Analyst; or six years of cumulative paid IT experience. OR equivalent combination of education and experience: one year of experience for an Associate’s degree; two years for a Bachelor’s degree. Experience with operating system software, relational and/or hierarchical databases, and technical application support for administrative and clinical systems. Some certifications may be required within 6 months depending on department. Experience

Experience with TCP/IP and other networking protocols; understanding of Microsoft Networks at OS, file/directory security, and user account level. Proven Help Desk experience and customer relations skills. Three years of field experience resolving field hardware and software problems, installing Windows and macOS, including two years of networking on a large-scale network. Experience using project management methodologies to manage projects. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Project and/or team leadership; strong technical generalist capabilities. Analytical skills with established systems analysis processes. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and make decisions with limited information. Ability to script/program solutions for repetitive systems administration tasks; knowledge of IT security tools and practices. Experience deploying and troubleshooting desktops/laptops, wireless devices, IP-based field technologies, and peripherals. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and multitasking abilities; strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to track/analyze data using Excel and/or Access; commitment to ongoing learning in IT field technologies. Demonstrate core competencies: Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Leaders, Leading Function. Certifications

Within six months, ability to gain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science. Experience in healthcare, research, and/or academic environments. Experience in large campus and network environments (5,000 users). Formal Project Management Training (PMI). Advanced programming expertise and knowledge of remote access (WTS, VPN) and virtualization technologies. Experience with current desktop operating systems, including installation, application support, and registry support. Additional vendor certifications; advanced Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP) preferred. All are welcome
