We're looking for a
Senior GIS Platform Engineer
to architect, build, and maintain the geospatial backbone of a cutting-edge analytics platform. If you're passionate about scalable GIS data systems, love wrangling spatial data, and want to make a real-world impact—this is your role. Requires active TS/SCI. Must be open to CI Poly. Location:
Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO. This is a full-time onsite position; hybrid/remote work not supported. Principal Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain solutions to support deployment, integration, and sustainment of GIS enterprise tools, specifically with Esri Enterprise capabilities. Collaborate with teammates to design, integrate, and deploy new analytic capabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Esri Enterprise stack, including networking, automation pipelines, and infrastructure. Skills Required 8+ years of experience in deploying and maintaining software capabilities for the intelligence community, geospatial context, and/or big data analytics: Experience with transitioning and maintaining software solutions with Esri Enterprise or other GIS stacks in secure environments. Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, R, Java, JavaScript, Bash. Experience with commercial, open-source, and custom application deployments and maintenance. Experience with Linux system administration and scripting. Ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed team. Work onsite 80% or as needed. Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field. Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship. Additional Skills Desired Familiarity with industry software tools, DevSecOps, Data visualization, Data management, Data integration, User Interface, and Databases. Experience with Postgres database optimization, distributed processing methods, REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS services, and deploying web services. Experience working with open-source and commercial resources in government computing environments. Familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem architecture, AWS, C2S, OpenShift. Possession of a CompTIA Security+ or similar certification. Experience as a military or intelligence analyst supporting the military/IC or knowledge of IC PED systems is a plus. #cjpost #LI-RD In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The starting pay will be within the range of $120,000.00 - $200,000.00, determined by experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions.
