Overview
Senior Project Manager - High-End Hospitality (Midland, Texas)
The Beck Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join an extraordinary project team. This is an individual role with involvement across multiple facets of construction, responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of projects, overseeing project financials, schedule, risk management, quality, and client relationships.
Responsibilities
Complete oversight of on-site construction, supervising and directing a team of 5 to 20 project engineers, APMs, superintendents, field engineers, safety supervisors, and subcontractors
Lead Beck’s interface with the client by establishing and maintaining trust and exceeding expectations at every stage
Participate in preconstruction efforts, including assembling bid packages, directing pre-bid meetings, bid analysis, buy-out, and contract administration
Review and manage proposed changes from Owner or Architect and develop Change Orders by soliciting and analyzing subcontractor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness
Oversee the project schedule (primarily managed by on-site superintendents) to keep the project on schedule and ensure compliance with Beck’s scheduling policy
Identify and lead cost-saving efforts through value engineering
Develop and maintain accurate general conditions and general requirements budgets
Negotiate disputes and resolve disagreements with Owner, Architect, and subcontractors
Ensure construction, subcontracts, and purchase orders align with Contract Documents
Understand breach of contract concepts and the steps to enforce
Cultivate and maintain relationships to win $25M or more in work annually
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in vertical commercial construction with project values at or exceeding $100 million
15+ years of relevant commercial construction experience
Has completed multiple projects as the Project Leader in charge of outcome (financial, completion, schedule)
Understands the impact of pre-project planning on delivery
College degree (or equivalent experience); degree preferred
Experience using Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, and Revit or comparable construction technologies is a plus
Physical Demands Frequently operates a computer and office equipment; climbs ladders and stairs; works in varied outdoor weather conditions; lifts and moves equipment up to 50 lbs on site; communicates with subcontractors and team members; moves around uneven surfaces; spends much of the day standing; ability to maintain consistent and timely attendance.
