ECS is looking to hire an
Intermediate Systems Administrator
to join our team with the Criminal Investigation Management System (CIMS), which supports the Army Law Enforcement mission under the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACID) in Quantico, VA. USACID's mission is to identify, disrupt, and defeat criminal threats to Army personnel, property, and resources. CIMS is a critical component of this mission providing a secure IT environment to support USACID's expanding role in the law enforcement community. These roles will support IT operations, maintenance, development, testing, and application security for CIMS.
Responsibilities include:
Provides full system sustainment functions, system administration, including configuration management, patch deployment, account creation, log monitoring, and security compliance across all CIMS environments. Coordinates closely with the Help Desk team to resolve escalated user access issues and supports Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes to ensure alignment with release schedules and security protocols. Ensures CIMS environments remain secure, available, and properly configured to meet mission needs. Responsible for maintaining operating system servers in support of business processing requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations, upgrades, and maintains them in accordance with government standards. Monitors and tunes the systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Maintains accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Manages system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability while monitoring and maintaining system/server configuration. Conducts periodic system maintenance including clearing (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing. Installs, implements, and configures support of system components. Complies with government systems administration standard operating procedures and implements and enforces local network usage policies and procedures. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience in system administration, or Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience. Must possess IAT Level II certification and experience with Windows/Linux enterprise environments. Requires knowledge of cybersecurity principles, computer networking concepts, protocols, network security methodologies, risk management framework, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and performance tuning tools and techniques. Possess skills in monitoring, optimizing system/server performance, operating system administration (account maintenance, data backups, system performance, installation and configuration of new hardware/software). Knowledge of virtualization technologies, virtual machine development and maintenance, system administration, network and operating system hardening techniques. RedHat, Linux, Azure or equivalent certification is required
