As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology organization, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team, designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions, supporting the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Develops resilient software solutions that improve reliability, scalability and system performance of the Loan Origination System (LOS)
Designs, Develops and Automates operational workflows to help improve Mean time to Resolve(MTTR) and Mean time to Detect(MTTD)
Enhances observability by identifying gaps and building monitoring, logging and alerting to ensure service health are within thresholds and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Collaborates with product, architecture, security and operations teams prioritize reliability and embed best practices across the software development lifecycle.
Participates in incident response and post mortems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience in designing resilient system design, application development, testing, that improve operational stability and reliability
Proficient hands-on coding experience in Python, React, and Terraform
Demonstrated experience with hands-on
Site Reliability Engineering Concepts and DevOps practices
(SLA/SLOs, error budgets, MTTR, MTTD) Demonstrated experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, OTeL, Grafana Hands-on experience with
AWS Experience in working and integrating third-party systems Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as Angular or Salt Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Automation technologies that improve operations Knowledge of ITIL, and Agile methodologies Experience with containers and orchestration (Dockers, Kubernetes) AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect Associate)
