Assistant Professor of Practice in Power Systems . This is a 1.0 FTE, 9-month teaching appointment. Position Summary
The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department seeks outstanding candidates for a Non-Tenure Track Faculty (NTTF)
Assistant Professor of Practice in Power Systems . This teaching position focuses on undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering. The appointment typically teaches two 4-credit courses each quarter of the fall, winter, and spring terms. Additional responsibilities include service to the department, college, or university, capstone project supervision, curriculum and program development, and teaching laboratory directorship. The faculty member will engage with regional industry partners to strengthen power engineering career development pathways, recruit guest speakers and adjunct faculty, and inform continuous improvement of PSU’s power-track BS EE and MS ECE programs. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Master of Science degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline Experience teaching and/or related industry experience Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related discipline Demonstrated teaching excellence Experience teaching at least three courses in higher education and/or 3 years of related industry experience Experience teaching graduate and undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses Core Responsibilities
Teach two 4-credit courses per quarter (9 months) Provide service to the department, college, or university Capstone project supervision Curriculum and program development Teaching laboratory directorship Engage with regional industry partners to strengthen power engineering career development pathways, recruit guest speakers and adjunct faculty Compensation and Benefits
Starting 9-month salary is typically between $85,000 and $92,690, depending on experience and budget. Salary may be negotiable. PSU offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare premiums, retirement, vacation, and reduced tuition rates for employees and eligible dependents at Oregon University System schools.
