Description/Notes:
Burton ISD is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Director to lead and manage the district’s special education cooperative program. The successful candidate will ensure the provision of high-quality services to students with special needs and that all individualized education programs (IEPs) are implemented effectively to meet each student’s unique educational needs. Qualifications:
● Education/Certification ○ Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field (required) ○ Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Special Education ○ Demonstrated, comprehensive experience in Special Education, including both instructional and administrative roles—preferably in a leadership capacity ○ In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local special education laws and regulations ○ Strong leadership and team management skills ○ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities ○ Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, parents, and community members ○ Proven ability to lead across systems and communicate with diverse stakeholders including school boards, administrators, families, and service providers. Experience working in or with a multi-district special education cooperative preferred. Salary Range:
