Sql Server Database Developer
position at the Company
Upward Talent . Located in the Township of Wall, NJ, United States. Requires Master Degree or higher. This programmer field vacancy is open to qualified candidates. Responsibilities
Hybrid on-site work 3-4 days per week. Senior level database developer responsible for designing databases and leading the database development team; not requiring enterprise architect skills. Titles considered include Database Engineer, Technical Lead, or Senior Database Developer and Lead. Provide significant/expert skill in database design and performance tuning. Serve as the go-to technical resource for the development team. Perform duties to meet business needs in addition to listed responsibilities. Lead database related projects including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of highly complex database solutions. Deliver high-quality, efficient database code according to organizational needs. Maintain deep technical understanding of system architecture, technologies, and codebase supported by the database team to participate in high-level design and planning. Attend shaping meetings and collaborate with IT team members to design solutions. Perform regular code reviews for accuracy, scalability, performance and acceptance criteria compliance. Write scripts for creation of database objects (Stored Procedures, Tables, Views, Functions, Triggers, etc.). Design, build, debug, monitor, schedule and troubleshoot end-to-end ETL solutions. Write Ad Hoc SQL scripts for data import/export or updates, maintaining data integrity across applications. Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements. Ensure pristine data quality in all delivered database solutions. Participate in on-call rotation to cover off-hours and holiday support. Collaborate with DBAs and other IT members to quickly identify and resolve production incidents. Follow all company change management procedures. Collaborate with QA Team to define test cases and support testing efforts. Ensure complete and accurate documentation is created and maintained for all design and coding projects. Help define, improve and enforce database best practices and team coding standards. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5-7 years of development in database technologies. Minimum 5-7 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Minimum 5-7 years of experience with SSIS. Excellent written and oral communication, with good interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills. Highly proficient in database design, development and implementation. Demonstrated ability to write highly efficient and complex SQL queries. Demonstrated ability to design, build, debug, monitor, schedule and troubleshoot end-to-end data transformation (ETL) solutions. Highly proficient in database performance tuning and query optimization. Nice to have
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Merge Replication is a plus. Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus. PowerShell scripting capability. Experience with databases hosted in AWS (RDS) is a plus.
