As a Software Engineer II, Minecraft, you will work with the User Interface (UI) in the world’s most popular game. The work revolves around UI that supports players’ journey to find the fun in the game. You will join a cross-functional team and collaborate with other developers, designers, producers, and UX professionals on a game enjoyed by over 100,000,000 players worldwide. We have big dreams for Minecraft and need your help to realize them.

The end-user experience is essential, and a key part of the role is implementing designers’ and UX visions in a performant way. Communication with other developers, design, and UX is a day-to-day cornerstone. Responsibilities

Work with the Development and Design Team to implement new features in the Minecraft UI.

Collaborate with C++ developers on building new UI and making API decisions.

Work with designers and producers to solve user needs.

Balance performance, user experience, and developer experience in every decision.

Be quality driven, with experience in test automation and good API design.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, JavaScript, or React.

OR equivalent experience.

1 year experience using React or an equivalent UI framework or library.

1 year experience developing complex software systems or applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience building large-scale React applications.

Experience of working in product teams that build experiences using modern web development towards a large customer base.

Clear communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a natural collaborator and team player.

Ability to prototype, iterate, and take initiative to drive progress.

Software Quality Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
