Overview
Brown-Forman’s Data Scientists are part of the Global Advanced Analytics team, which operates at the forefront of business strategy by transforming data into actionable insights. We work in close partnership with a variety of functional groups, including Global Production, Finance, Marketing, and Sales, on a global scale. Our team’s expertise spans modeling, feature engineering, data visualization, data management, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a senior-level opportunity to directly influence our business operations by using advanced analytics to solve our most challenging problems and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
Leads the development and deployment of causal and predictive models using statistical programming languages like R and Python based on integrated data from numerous sources, often stored in a SQL environment. Designs and implements advanced algorithms to build new data and expand modeling capabilities. Provides rigorous proof and explanation for model acceptance tests to executive stakeholders. Mentors and guides junior data scientists in their modeling efforts.
Drives definition and implementation of advanced data visualization strategies using tools like Tableau. Creates compelling data-driven narratives that provide clear and concise insights for senior leadership. Leads the resolution of complex issues related to dashboard development and delivery, and champions the adoption of best practices across the team.
Architects solutions for handling large-scale data and computation in collaboration with the Business Intelligence team. Identifies, integrates, and formats new data sources to ensure reliability for complex decision-making.
Partners with stakeholders across the organization, translating complex business problems into clear analytical solutions. Manages the delivery of multiple projects end-to-end, employing project management techniques. Communicates complex methodologies, leads training sessions, and drives usage and adoption of tools and applications across the enterprise.
What You Bring To The Table Education & Professional Experience:
BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics or related fields.
5+ years of relevant work experience.
Technical Qualifications
Experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with a variety of tools.
Proficiency in statistical analysis environments such as R.
Experience with relational databases like SQL.
An understanding of both structured and unstructured data.
Experience applying statistical concepts to real-world applications.
Experience defining and refining project deliverables and scope.
Demonstrated ability to independently prepare sophisticated statistical analyses with accuracy and within an established time frame.
Extensive experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, including a proven record of driving adoption.
