Lead Developer - PHP and Front End Developer - Cold Fusion developer Client: NIEHS Location: Raleigh, NC Role Overview

Responsible for coding and developing standards-compliant, accessible web pages and scripts using various technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SQL, and ColdFusion. Key Responsibilities

Write clean, maintainable code across multiple languages and technologies. Ensure accessibility compliance (Section 508) and cross-browser compatibility. Lead the full lifecycle development of web applications. Skills Required

Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SQL, ColdFusion. Experience with Atlassian Jira, API integration, and version control systems like Bitbucket. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Preferred Certifications

Acquia Certified Developer CIW JavaScript Specialist MCSE Zend Certified Engineer PHP Lead Designer (additional responsibilities)

The Lead Designer is responsible for creating usable, standards-compliant, attractive, modern online interaction interfaces. The Lead Designer collaborates with internal and external resources to deliver innovative, intuitive, and future-friendly web designs, ensuring consistency in information architecture and user experience. The Lead Designer advocates for usability and incorporates user research methodologies into the product design and development lifecycle. Links to online examples of work or portfolio may be included. Duties

Create graphical mock-ups and simple mock-ups to depict screen/visual changes that impact user experience while ensuring compliance with design style guides. Design interfaces for mobile and desktop web experiences. Develop layouts addressing navigation and information architecture, determine layout breakpoints and design responses to breakpoints. Develop wireframes, mock-ups, storyboards and prototypes to communicate UX requirements and features. Integrate social media visually into the interface and align with the Institution’s look and feel; utilize personas. Work with other developers to implement designs. Skills Required

Ability to design compelling user experiences across mobile, tablet, and desktop. Client interface experience and understanding of mobile design patterns. Understanding of user-centered design principles and tools; experience with a Web Style Guide. Previous Section 508 development experience; ability to work in large, integrated teams with clients and third-party vendors. Strong conceptual skills and experience developing innovative UX solutions. Skills Preferred

Ability to learn quickly and apply new technologies; ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities. Experience with Atlassian Jira; experience in full lifecycle development with cross-functional teams. Keen design sensibility and a passion for UX from concept to pixel detail; knowledge of Federal Web design standards. Strong production design and UI development skills; understanding of online design, marketing, and advertising. Preferred Certifications: Adobe Photoshop ACE; Centre Centre CWCSB; CIW Web Design Specialist; Google Analytics IQ; UX certifications from Nielsen Norman Group or Human Factors International.
