This Senior DevOps Engineer will be a critical member of Copart's growing DevOps team and will be responsible for Production Support and keeping our sites up and running. This includes automating deployments, configuration management, and capacity management of Copart's production applications. This role will interact with all functions in Copart's technology team to build out operational capabilities that support secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, cloud-based web applications and architecture. Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot one or more company products Develop internal tools and processes to maintain stability and performance of our infrastructure Act as subject-matter expert for one or more company products Gather, analyze, and report important IT system data Provide feedback to developers regarding the status of various IT systems Develop and manage product-related IT procedures Research, review, analyze, troubleshoot, and document product-related IT systems Plan and successfully complete IT projects and goals Produce usable and maintainable documentation with clear communication Demonstrate strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently Demonstrate strong interpersonal, time management, project management, and conflict resolution skills Apply strong problem-solving skills: innovation, collaboration, analysis, inductive reasoning Automate repetitive tasks Qualifications
Very good knowledge and experience supporting secure, scalable, fault-tolerant, and cloud-based web applications and architecture Extensive production support experience in troubleshooting and problem solving to keep applications/platforms resilient and highly available Experience writing custom applications/scripts to enhance support capabilities Experience in automation of deployments, configuration management, capacity management, and providing custom solutions in an agile environment Proficient with standard IT concepts, practices, and procedures Intermediate programming and scripting knowledge Strong understanding of business processes and IT systems Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems Understanding of Systems, TCP/IP networking and DNS concepts; CDNs setup/configuration is a plus Experience with web technologies and web/application servers like Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, Nginx, Redis, SOLR, Nirvana, WSO2 Experience with Build Automation, CI/CD and DevOps Tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, Ansible, Puppet, StackStorm Experience working with container technologies (Docker), Cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and Kubernetes is a plus Experience in monitoring application performance with APM tools (AppDynamics, Instana, New Relic) to predict degradation and improve performance Experience handling escalations from L1 and L2 teams to troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues Ability to analyze issues to find root causes and provide corrective and preventive actions Security hardening and vulnerability management experience E-Verify
