The ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT projects related to the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Advanced Distribution Management Systems. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensuring the successful integration of ADMS solutions to support utility operations. The ADMS IT Project Manager will collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure projects align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution : Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, to ensure successful delivery of ADMS-related IT projects. Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, operations, IT) and external vendors to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with project goals. Budget and Resource Management : Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and allocate resources effectively to meet project objectives within financial constraints. Risk Management : Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure projects stay on track despite challenges. System Integration : Oversee the integration of ADMS with existing IT infrastructure, including SCADA, GIS, and other utility systems, ensuring seamless functionality and data flow. Compliance and Standards : Ensure projects comply with industry standards (e.g., NERC, FERC) and organizational policies, including cybersecurity and data privacy requirements. Team Leadership : Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders. Reporting and Documentation : Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and outcomes. Maintain comprehensive project documentation. Vendor Coordination : Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations. Change Management : Support the adoption of ADMS solutions by facilitating training, communication, and change management processes for end-users. Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. PMP, Agile, or other project management certifications are a plus. Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years focused on utility or energy sector projects. Experience with ADMS, SCADA, GIS, or related systems is highly desirable. Technical Skills : Familiarity with ADMS platforms (e.g., Schneider Electric ADMS, GE ADMS, Siemens Spectrum Power); Knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and cybersecurity principles; Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello). Soft Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Industry Knowledge : Understanding of utility operations, grid management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, IEEE standards). Working Conditions
