This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team of experienced individuals who will drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and mathematical solutions. Job Description As a Scientist, you will be responsible for working on a team seeking to solve GM's most pressing challenges across the enterprise using AI/ML and other analytical techniques. You will be responsible for the entire data science lifecycle process across multiple product workstreams, from initial investigation, to proof-of-concept development, to productionization and deployment, to final enhancement, hardening and maintenance. What You’ll Do
Develop predictive and prescriptive models using machine-learning algorithms, optimization and AI solutions. Analyze large amounts of diverse information to discover trends and patterns that drive business decisions. Develop UI applications to deliver insights to business clients. Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data. Monitor and sustain model effectiveness. Present complex information using data visualization techniques. Create repeatable and scalable code bases and processes for improving development / execution efficiency. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Candidates must be collaborative team players who will work closely with professionals across the enterprise including other scientists, software developers, analysts and product leads. Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics or a related degree (MS or Ph.D. preferred). 3+ years’ experience (2 years with MS) as a data scientist, research scientist, AI analyst, ML engineer, or related role. Python proficiency required. Expertise across multiple domains of forecasting, clustering, classification, econometrics, optimization, Bayesian statistics, neural networks, deep learning, natural language processing, LLMs, generative AI, and/or other machine learning and AI methodologies. Experience with SQL, Databricks and/or other cloud-based data science platforms preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated working experiences with cross-function product teams. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions. Familiarity with data storage solutions, databases, and data processing frameworks. Excellent communication skills to present findings and collaborate across teams. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects at once without sacrificing quality What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
Databricks experience. Master's/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. This role is categorized as hybrid.
