OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The 3D Engineer supports the Quality Assurance organization by servicing Program Team 3Dimensional verification requirements. This position reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance. Essential Job Functions: Determines the specific Part / Assembly dimensional requirements and acquires inspection data for Inspection Plans (IP) and First Article Inspection Reports (FAI). Determines the proper equipment to be used to efficiently and accurately verify Parts / Assemblies based on size, access, and tolerance constraints. Works directly with Program Quality Engineer’s (QE’s) and Manufacturing Engineer’s (ME’s) to supply the verification reports in the correct format to meet both Program and Customer expectations. General Requirements: Working knowledge of GD&T. Experience desired in CAMIO, Verisurf, CMM Manager, Spatial Analyzer 3D verification software. Experience desired in Solid Works, Pro E, Catia, AutoCad solid modeling software. Strong computer background, with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Associate level should have a bachelor’s degree or 2 years related experience in 3D Inspection and/or Quality Assurance Inspection. General level requires a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience or a total of 10 years’ experience in the related field. Senior level requires a bachelor’s degree plus 10 years’ experience or a total of 15 years’ experience in the related field. Must be safety oriented and follow all safety and plant rules and regulations. Must maintain good attendance and good housekeeping standards. Must work well in a team environment.
