Automation engineer that supports process and automation improvements in a manufacturing site. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Quality to drive improved performance on production equipment. Deliver equipment that supports process reliability, Industry 4.0 initiatives, and plant-wide efficiency; ensure process design and operation consistently meet Engineering/Quality standards. Own equipment design reviews to align automation with process intent. Align with site digital transformation. Use Lean/Six Sigma and statistical analysis to remove bottlenecks. Define inputs/outputs, materials, and tolerances for each step. What you'll bring
Bachelors in Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical preferred. 5-10 years of prior experience in related field. Prior manufacturing experience Role is on site, full time Less than 10% Travel Must be able to work in a Penicillin/Cephalosporin facility Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety, and validation. Mechanical + controls integration. PLC/HMI/SCADA awareness but coupled with equipment design authority. Strong in design risk mitigation and failure mode prevention. Experience in Industry 4.0 pilot initiatives (AI Vision, robotics). Process modeling and statistical control. Expertise in Six Sigma, DFSS, Voice of Customer. Broader plant-level view of efficiency, not just one machine. Compensation and Benefits
The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The position may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Pay is based on location, skills, experience, and other factors and is subject to change.
