Location: Bethesda, MD; Laurel, MD; Washington, DC-Baltimore Area, with international deployment opportunities after an initial domestic training period. This position requires 6+ months of training on a Domestic Assignment to Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA, followed by potential deployment to Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for a minimum of 24 months. Deployment location is determined by business needs. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 100% of the time. Relocation assistance: No relocation assistance available. This role is embedded with a US Navy unit as the system subject matter expert, providing training on system hardware and software, supporting sailors in system operations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Interfacing with Northrop Grumman and customer Flight Engineers, aircraft maintenance Technicians, US Navy service members, and Subsystem SMEs to sustain operations. Primary interface between maintenance, design and flight test engineering. Vehicle and Payload Test Controller (VTC/PTC) operations during aircraft start-up/shut down for launch and recovery, conduct static ground tests, and troubleshooting. Essential Functions
Provide inputs to update Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS). Review/provide inputs during engineering development and execute Detailed Test Requirements, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Ground Test Plans. Install, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify equipment in accordance with IETMS and other engineering directives. Perform Organizational/Depot-level maintenance and technical support on products at customer and/or field locations. Develop general knowledge of all aircraft systems, VTC/PTC, Engineering Design and software; perform field integration, troubleshooting and repair of air vehicle systems at customer locations including flightline or hangar operations. Interpret and trace electrical and air vehicle schematics; perform electrical and RF troubleshooting with common test equipment. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in STEM or related field. 8+ years of engineering experience with BS; 6 years with MS; 4 years with PhD in STEM, or equivalent. Willingness to complete required training at Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA. Willingness to support an international assignment for 24 months (location determined by business needs). Willingness to relocate to a core U.S. location if required. Ability to pass a new hire physical if required by the company. DoD Secret clearance in-scope or eligible for Top-Secret/SCI; ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access (PAR). Experience with Aircraft Ground Test Operations. Strong MS Office skills and ability to communicate with leadership. Strong interpersonal and briefing skills. Preferred Qualifications
Ability to support a new/extended assignment at an international or Guam location after initial 24 months. Active DoD Top Secret clearance in-scope or in CE. Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle test/maintenance experience; MQ-4/Triton BETTIE experience preferred. Aircraft Test or Lab Test experience; experience with equipment to test and troubleshoot aircraft systems. Experience loading data/configuration files to aircraft assemblies. Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00. Northrop Grumman offers overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, holidays and PTO.
