Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution Architect to design, implement, and manage complex data protection and disaster recovery solutions using Avamar and Data Domain systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing data protection and disaster recovery solutions, as well as a deep understanding of Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities. Key Responsibilities
Design and implement Avamar and Data Domain solutions to meet customer needs. Configure and manage Avamar replication, Cloud Tier, and Data Domain systems. Describe and configure Avamar features and capabilities, including data protection, disaster recovery, and data management. Perform Avamar server maintenance activities, including disk replacement and node upgrades. Identify and configure Data Domain features and architecture, including data replication, recovery, and security. Design and implement Data Domain solutions for VTL, cloud disaster recovery, and data archiving. Develop and implement data protection strategies and solutions using Avamar and Data Domain. Collaborate with customers to understand their data protection and disaster recovery needs and develop customized solutions. Perform system monitoring, maintenance, capacity management, and troubleshooting for Avamar and Data Domain systems. Develop and maintain technical documentation for Avamar and Data Domain solutions. Stay up to date with the latest Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities. Requirements
10+ years of experience in designing and implementing data protection and disaster recovery solutions. In-depth knowledge of Avamar and Data Domain features and capabilities. Experience with Avamar replication, Cloud Tier, and Data Domain systems. Strong understanding of data protection and disaster recovery concepts and strategies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work with customers to understand their needs and develop customized solutions. Strong technical skills, including knowledge of networking, storage, and data protection technologies. Experience with system monitoring, maintenance, capacity management, and troubleshooting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in data protection and disaster recovery. Project Tasks
Daily Operations/Implementation Check and confirm all systems maintenance are running fine and take necessary action to resolve if any on all ten Avamar servers (Two physical servers & eight virtual servers) and eleven Data Domains (Two DD 9800 model & Nine DD9900 model). Monitor Daily backup failures (VM Snapshot, NAS, DB2, Oracle, file system backups). Restore request as needed by customer. Create DPA reports for customer. Ensure LPR backups complete on both MDC/PSAC2. Manage backups for older years as needed. Work with support for hardware issues and with CE's (disk, memory, etc.). Knowledgeable with Elastic Cloud to support troubleshooting issues such as updating certificates, Disk replacements and reporting with support. Perform upgrades to Data Domain. Monitor CloudIQ for DPS and resolve open issues. Perform upgrades to Avamar & DPA. Attend meetings with Customer to discuss issues related to backup. Attend CAB (ServiceNow) meetings. Lead multiple active projects with direction from the customer, including data protection capacity expansion, Avamar virtualization, and data center refresh initiatives as described. The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
