SME on problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Develop best practices for processes and standards to improve the system. Perform vulnerability assessments using standardized tools (e.g., Nessus, DISA STIGs) and apply configuration updates to meet security requirements. Track and fulfill liabilities associated with A&A activities as documented in the Plan of Actions and Milestones. Perform hardening of operations systems, COTS, and open-source products. Validate best practices in penetration testing, configuration analysis, and security testing. Prepare comprehensive security assessment testing documentation to validate applied security controls in support of A&A testing; generate/maintain RMF artifacts (e.g., Security Requirements Traceability Matrix, Security Plans, Certification Test Plans, Continuous Monitoring Plans). Update accreditation database in a timely manner. Provide technical guidance focused on information security architecture. Key Skills, Education & Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or related discipline. Alternatively, twelve (12) years of Cybersecurity Engineer experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Required Experience:

Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; ideally 3+ years in the same level/grade for like role. Techno-functional knowledge in: A&A execution (e.g., ICD-503), information systems security and continuous monitoring per NIST SP 800-53/800-53A, DCID 6/3, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53A, NIST SP 800-37; security controls assessment; PKI; firewalls; encryption; network access; OSI model; DoD/IC system security control requirements; XACTA and SNOW; ACAS, Wireshark, Retina, Tripwire; Linux/Windows security basics; virtualization (VMware, Docker); DoD policy/governance as it relates to critical infrastructure; and related tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills; self-starter with proactive, strategic mindset. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio). Desired Experience & Skills

Understanding of Independent Assessor principles and confidentiality requirements. Ability to articulate business and technology needs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in a matrixed environment; strong collaboration and coalition-building skills. Ability to interact with all levels of the company and with customers/partners with professionalism. Contract/Project Support & Team Responsibilities

Assist Principal Engineer (PE) with Customer Relationship & Account Management; escalate and remediate issues. Assist with project and task execution and monitoring; may include project lead tasks at Mid/Senior levels. Critically evaluate information, manage knowledge transfer, and ensure timely delivery against tasking and contract requirements. Provide timely feedback to Contract-level PE on challenges affecting delivery; communicate schedule impacts to management. Identify upsell opportunities within existing contracts and assist with RFI/RFPs to garner new work as warranted. Maintain open communication with Contract Manager and supervisor when working on matrixed contracts. Adhere to performance measures and participate in annual goal alignment; perform other duties as assigned. Team Aligned Responsibilities

Remain focused on mission and priorities; participate in annual self-evaluations. Adhere to company core values and contribute to continuous improvement. Mid or Senior level: provide peer mentoring and constructive coaching to junior team members. Certifications & Credentials

Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required. Current certification compliant with DoD 8570 IAM or IAT level 3 or obtain certification within 6 months of hire and maintain thereafter. IAT Level III requirements; IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) as applicable. Language Skills
