Role Summary

The Project Engineer 1 will complete and support construction and field execution responsibilities for construction projects utilizing construction fundamentals and company best practice standards, processes, resources, and tools. This position will be responsible for implementing and carrying out many facets of the construction process such as general construction management, punch lists, and executing self-perform work, in order to understand the building process and how JE Dunn executes projects. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Autonomy and Decision Making:

Project Engineer 2 Key Role Responsibilities - Core

PROJECT ENGINEERING FAMILY - CORE Learn and actively participate in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Participate with project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks. Learn and participate in estimating and change management processes and tools, including quantity take-off and review of subcontractor proposals. Support site activities such as monitoring crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantities, and equipment. Participate in activities like punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews, and documentation preparation. Post drawings and specifications with the most recent information. Organize and participate in project meetings, preparing and disseminating necessary documentation. Assist in preparing various reports such as daily reports, weekly progress reports, and others to support project management. Perform periodic job site observations with project leadership. Create procurement logs based on project schedules and specifications, tracking shop drawings and deliveries. Provide progress updates and reports to support scheduling. Support project close-out activities, including punch lists, manuals, and as-built drawings. Utilize company standards and fundamentals for building and construction techniques. Build relationships and develop communication skills with tradespeople and project team members. Develop understanding of various functions and support roles across the company. Collaborate and demonstrate teamwork in project settings. Learn and incorporate Lean practices into activities. Learn about best practices for identifying, developing, and integrating self-perform opportunities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of organizational structure and resources. Knowledge of Lean processes and philosophy. Knowledge of construction technology and management fundamentals. Understanding of self-perform and labor productivity. Ability to assess and optimize project productivity. Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work. Ability to build relationships and collaborate within and outside the team. Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience

Entry-level construction experience. Working Environment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. May require travel and/or relocation. Willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs. Exposure to extreme conditions (hot or cold). Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling. Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screens. Benefits

The benefits package for this position is Professional Non-Union.

Click here for benefits details. Base salary in Minnesota is between $79,000 and $81,000, depending on experience, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional candidates.
