The IT Project Manager should be confident, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. This individual is accountable for coordinating technical requirements, performing impact assessments, and overseeing projects from planning through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership and technical teams to define project deliverables, develop scopes, and manage resources and activities to ensure timely and on-budget delivery while maintaining a strong focus on stakeholder satisfaction.
Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to align expectations and ensure effective communication.
Manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment with interdependencies and shifting priorities.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, understand goals and challenges, and ensure that proposed solutions meet business needs.
Differentiate between operational work and projects, helping teams define clear scopes and execution plans.
Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, issues, and changes. Lead efforts to identify, track, and resolve issues before they impact delivery.
Support purchasing and administrative activities related to technology projects.
Develop and manage project timelines and ensure alignment with team capacity and business priorities.
Maintain detailed project documentation and schedules using tools like Smartsheet.
Ensure clear and consistent communication with internal teams and leadership, adhering to established procedures and expectations.
Coordinate efforts across functional teams to support delivery, manage change, mitigate risk, and resolve issues.
Ensure long-term maintainability and supportability by engaging operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Apply strong technical understanding to deliver infrastructure and application projects in a high-availability environment.
Use structured methodologies to complete projects on time and within scope.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership through formal presentations.
Use tools like Azure DevOps to manage project tasks and maintain compliance-related documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that align with compliance standards and best practices.
Continuously improve project templates and reporting tools to increase clarity and efficiency.
Deliver comprehensive weekly status reports to keep stakeholders informed.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
PMP Certification is a nice to have
4–6 years of experience managing technical and/or large-scale projects
Familiarity with key technologies and concepts (e.g., operating systems, networking, security, platforms)
Experience using both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects concurrently
Understanding of service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
Strong financial and budgeting skills related to project planning
Demonstrated planning and leadership capabilities in a multi-project environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio and PowerPoint)
Experience with Smartsheet or similar project management tools is a plus
Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Skilled at facilitating problem-solving and driving consensus among diverse stakeholders
Comfortable working in dynamic environments with frequent change
Strong understanding of technology trends and capabilities
