Position Overview
Acuity seeks a highly motivated and experienced Product Engineering / Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solution Architect to lead the architecture, integration, and modernization of our enterprise PLM and Product Engineering space. The Lead Solution Architect, Product Engineering & PLM, will shape how Acuity manages product data from design to commercialization—ensuring systems are scalable, interconnected, and aligned with the long-term digital strategy. This role collaborates with Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Enterprise Architecture teams to enable high-performing product and data ecosystems that drive agility, quality, and innovation. This position supports Acuity’s Better, Faster, Smarter transformation goals. This role is based in the United States.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Serve as the key point of contact & solution architect for the product engineering domain - across all product areas, including Parts & Components, Product Catalog, Bills of Materials (BoMs), CAD integrations, and Product Master Data (PIM).
Design and evolve scalable architecture for managing multi-level products, configurable products, and engineering hierarchies within PLM systems (e.g., PTC Windchill) and PIM systems.
Enable end-to-end integration between CAD/EDA tools (e.g., Altium, SolidWorks, PTC Creo) and PLM platforms to support design traceability and digital thread workflows.
Lead the selection, integration, and governance strategy for PLM platforms that support the global product engineering team, product catalog syndication, and attribute enrichment.
Build seamless product data flows between engineering (PLM), commerce (PIM), Integration (e.g., MuleSoft), ERP, MDM, and customer-facing applications.
Establish and standardize processes for creating, managing, and distributing high-quality Product Master Data.
Drive integration architecture using MuleSoft, RESTful APIs, or similar platforms to ensure robust, secure connectivity across systems.
Incorporate monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Grafana, ElasticSearch, Power BI) to support operational transparency and product data service reliability.
Explore and apply Generative AI to accelerate attribute creation, component matching, and intelligent product metadata transformation.
Partner with security, data governance, and business stakeholders to enforce standards, ensure compliance, and support scalable innovation.
Serve as an advisor and thought leader across product and engineering domains, enabling teams to execute efficiently on complex data and system requirements.
Define standards for architecture documentation using modeling tools, methods, and industry best practices – C4 models, etc.
Perform duties with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities effectively, and delegate tasks as needed. Guide other engineers and inspire team members to achieve individual and team goals.
Lead the organization to design, develop & deploy Generative AI applications, integrating with various enterprise-grade semantic search across document repositories.
Implement DevOps automation, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning (IaC), and deployment strategies.
Build high-performance RESTful APIs and streaming microservices for real-time data processing and distribution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture with a strong focus on PLM, PIM, and product data ecosystems in a global B2B model.
Deep expertise in PTC Windchill PLM, including product structures, change/configuration management, and BOM management (eBOM, mBOM, pBOM translations).
Hands-on experience with CAD/EDA integrations across Creo, SolidWorks, Altium, and ThingWorx, enabling seamless design-to-manufacturing workflows.
Proven track record leading Altium upgrades and integrations with Git repositories, Windchill, and enterprise systems.
Strong background in Product Information Management (PIM) for product catalog syndication, attribute enrichment, and commerce/ERP alignment.
Demonstrated success in data governance, product master data management, and global data migration initiatives, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
Expertise in integration architectures using MuleSoft, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems for cross-platform connectivity.
Strong understanding of .NET technologies, including .NET Core & .NET Framework. Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Skilled in Azure cloud-native architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices-based design.
Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code (ARM/Bicep).
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, including backlog management, sprint ceremonies, and delivery transparency.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, proven ability to align cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, ERP, and Commerce.
Available to work onsite and travel based on business needs.
Compensation & Benefits
The range for this position is $150,900.00 to $271,600.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
