We are looking for a Staff Accountant for our Client Accounting Services team. The successful applicant will be one who prides themselves on excellent service to clients, works with a high degree of accuracy, and has intellectual curiosity.
Job Title: Entry-Level Staff Accountant
Office: Glendale, CA (hybrid with minimum 2 days in-office)
Job Summary :
The Entry-Level Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various bookkeeping and accounting tasks for a diverse range of clients. This includes managing daily financial transactions, maintaining records, assisting with month-end close, preparing reports, and supporting senior accounting staff. The position offers the opportunity to work with both QuickBooks Desktop and Online, interact directly with clients, and collaborate with a dynamic team.
Job Duties :
Perform bookkeeping services such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets tracking, and month-end close.
Utilize both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop for bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
Client Services :
Assist clients with a range of small business services, including Secretary of State Statement of Information (SOI), Business Property Tax Returns, City Business License renewals, Form 1099 and 1096 filings, Sales Tax Returns, and Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable (AR/AP).
Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring all business needs are met. This may involve communication via email, phone, video conference, and occasional in-person meetings.
Collaboration with Senior Staff :
Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountants to ensure that department tasks are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met.
Help troubleshoot issues and roadblocks that arise within the team to maintain smooth workflow.
Billing and Time Management :
Accurately track daily billable hours and work toward meeting the firm’s annual goal of 1500 billable hours per calendar year.
Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or related field).
Experience :
At least 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, ideally with exposure to QuickBooks.
Strong familiarity with accounting processes such as reconciliation and financial reporting.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) at an intermediate level is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and other accounting software is required.
Ability to quickly learn new software tools and adapt to changing business needs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in client-facing interactions.

Compensation :
This is an hourly position with a rate of approx. $28-32 per hour, depending on experience.
Overtime may be needed at peak times of year, paid at time and a half.
Merit-based bonuses are available.
