Requirements
Active CPA license
Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with a specialization in tax
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing multiple engagements and client relationships
Strong technical skills regarding tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence, and tax research
Proficient in tax software and technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively both individually and as part of a team
Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information
Software
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online software programs
Experience with Thomson Reuters Accounting CS, Fixed Assets CS and UltraTax CS software preferred
Proficiency with MS Office Suite required
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients.
Prepare and review complex tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, estate, trust, and non-profit).
Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
Develop, mentor, and train staff in tax department.
Research complex tax theory and positions; defend those positions on behalf of the firm and clients.
Interface with clients to advise on tax-related issues and planning strategies.
Monitor and adapt to ongoing changes in tax laws and regulations.
Facilitate communication between clients and firm associates, ensuring the client remains informed of tax implications and strategies.
Participate in business development efforts to attract new clients and maintain existing relationships.
