Danbury, CT (Hybrid: 4 days on-site) We are recruiting a talented Controller to join our client, a fast-growing international chemicals manufacturer. The Controller will oversee a global accounting team and multiple manufacturing facilities across the US and overseas, strengthen internal controls, and improve finance processes across several entities. Base pay range $170,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr Ideal Candidate Profile
Holds a degree in Accounting; CPA designation is highly desirable Demonstrates a robust background in financial systems with strong analytical acumen Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications Comfortable working with ERP platforms; able to engage effectively across departments Self-starter capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight Proven leadership ability with a track record in developing and guiding finance teams Skilled in drafting and enforcing accounting standards and internal controls Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of experience in general accounting, preferably within a complex or manufacturing-focused organization (standard costing preferred) Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing accounting professionals Familiarity with operations spanning multiple legal entities and currencies Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred but not mandatory) Core Responsibilities
Direct month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Provide strategic and operational leadership for accounting teams across international offices Manage day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and audit standards Identify and drive improvements to existing accounting procedures and workflows Oversee preparation of tax filings, sales tax returns, statutory submissions, and other regulatory requirements Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors across all relevant jurisdictions Lead cash flow forecasting and liquidity management activities Produce ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed Seniorities and Employment Details
