Tower Climber / Field Engineer – Wireless & Microwave Networks – Lombard, Illinois $35–45/hr | Travel | Van Provided | Contract-to-Hire Are you an adventurous field engineer who thrives in challenging environments? This is your opportunity to join a high-performance field operations team supporting cutting-edge microwave networking for the financial trading sector — where speed, precision, and reliability make all the difference. We’re seeking motivated, dynamic individuals (ideally 2–3 years into their careers) who are ready to climb, learn, and build next-generation point-to-point wireless infrastructure. If you love being outdoors, working with technology, and taking ownership in the field, this role is for you. Responsibilities: Install, commission, and maintain microwave and wireless network equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot network and hardware issues quickly and efficiently Climb towers and rooftops to perform new construction, maintenance, and path alignments Work on microwave, RF, and fibre systems – with full training provided Operate safely using rigging and lifting equipment Collaborate with a global team ensuring ultra-reliable connectivity for high-frequency financial systems Report on progress, maintenance activities, and operational issues daily Requirements: 2–3 years’ experience in wireless/microwave networking or field engineering Authorized Climber/Rescue Certification and at least 2 years’ climbing experience Valid US Passport and Driver’s License (required) Hands-on experience with installation and commissioning Great attitude, adaptability, and strong work ethic – this is a team-driven culture Eagerness to travel and work in a high-paced, constantly evolving environment Nice to Have: OSHA 10 Certification Basic knowledge of fibre optics and splicing Experience with RF theory, power systems, or spectrum analysis tools Working Conditions: Based in Lombard, IL – daily reporting to the warehouse Regular travel across Illinois, Indiana, and surrounding regions (70% of the time) Occasional overnight stays (approx. 25%) Travel outside the Chicago market up to 30% Offer: $35–45/hour (USD) depending on experience Company van provided and kept at home All travel expenses covered Permanent offer includes competitive base plus bonus ($30k equivalent)
