Ticketmaster is a division of Live Nation Entertainment. The Ticketmaster North America Accounting group is responsible for all aspects of preparing accounting entries, reconciling general ledger accounts and reporting on the balance sheet in support of the Live Nation financial reporting process. The North America Accounting group is also responsible for coordinating and supporting internal and external audits related to the Ticketmaster North America division of Live Nation. The Job
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor, Indirect Tax to support the Ticketmaster North America indirect tax compliance process including preparing and reviewing indirect tax returns, assisting with sales tax audits and assisting the Indirect Tax Manager with tax automation projects utilizing Ticketmaster’s third-party indirect tax software. Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, has prior experience as a member of the indirect tax function within an organization and is proficient in Microsoft Excel, Vertex OSeries and other enterprise level accounting software (i.e., Oracle Financials and/or SAP). This position is primarily work from home with occasional onsite meetings in our Beverly Hills, California office. The ideal candidate would be located within a commutable distance to Beverly Hills. What You Will Be Doing
Assist with all US indirect tax returns (sales tax, admissions tax, business & occupation tax, property tax) and related calculation support to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments. Assist with all Canada indirect tax returns (GST/HST/PST) and related calculation support to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments. Support indirect tax audits including preparing audit support and completing data requests. Support the indirect tax compliance automation efforts including setting up various state and local tax returns and exemption certificates within the Vertex tax software and preparing Vertex Indirect Tax Return data imports. Reconcile indirect tax general ledger accounts and propose journal entries to record accruals as needed. Document indirect tax compliance policies and procedures. Identify and document indirect tax compliance process enhancements/improvements, focusing on controls, automation, efficiency, and analytics. Review and approve tax exemption requests. Oversee business license registration and renewal process. Assist with personal property tax compliance. Prepare ad hoc schedules as requested by management. Participate in various indirect tax projects as requested by management. What You Need to Know (or Technical Skills)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Tax. Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in a comparable indirect tax role. Vertex OSeries and Vertex Indirect Tax Returns software experience a plus. Experience with Canada tax filing requirements (GST, HST, PST) desired Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong Excel skills including use of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP function preferred. Experience with Oracle Financials ERP systems is a plus. Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills. Strong attention to detail and highly organized. Ability to work overtime during monthly compliance and month end close periods as needed. You (Behavioural Skills)
