About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Finance and Accounting to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for the direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions. This includes overseeing the monthly close process, restricted grants, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and the management of the audit and tax process. The VP will ensure that the organization has the necessary financial reporting, systems, controls, and procedures in place to support effective management and operations. Additionally, the role involves working closely with program leaders to educate them on finance and accounting procedures and to explore how the finance function can proactively support program operations. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a CPA certification, and at least 7-10 years of accounting experience, with a preference for those with a nonprofit background. The role requires a strong business partner who can provide financial insight and guidance, as well as the ability to prepare and approve financial statements in a timely manner. Experience with NetSuite is essential, and experience with inventory management, warehousing, and distribution is a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be technologically savvy, and have a proven track record of managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting in a fast-paced environment. Good people skills and the ability to develop and manage a team are also necessary.
