Job Summary
Join a leading
space exploration company
in a high-impact role supporting the manufacturing of spaceflight systems. As a
Machine Programmer , you will develop and modify NC programs for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines to ensure precision machining and first-pass success of
tight-tolerance, high-value parts . You’ll work alongside engineers and machinists to improve processes and enable safe, repeatable spaceflight.
Key Responsibilities
Develop NC programs for CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines Produce setup sheets and define machining strategy from design data Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and shop floor teams Design and define custom tooling and fixtures as needed Provide
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
feedback Support configuration control and documentation of job records Improve machining and administrative processes Conduct product acceptance per company policy Maintain a safe and compliant industrial work environment
Required Experience
5+ years of NC programming experience Strong blueprint reading and
GD&T (ASME Y14.5 M-1994)
interpretation Tooling and fixture design experience Proficiency in setup sheet creation, cutter selection, and feed/speed calculations Machining experience with
Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum DFMA application in manufacturing environments Excellent communication and attention to detail Comfortable with precision tools and computer-based work U.S. citizenship or lawful residency status required
Nice-to-Have Experience
MasterCam X7 or newer Unigraphics NX software Vericut or similar verification software Hands-on experience as a machinist or CNC operator
Required Skills
NC programming for CNC mills/lathes GD&T interpretation Tooling and fixture design Feed/speed optimization Precision machining of aerospace metals
Preferred Skills
MasterCam or NX programming Program verification tools (e.g., Vericut) Machinist background Configuration control systems Collaboration with engineering teams
